ICM-II: ABDOMEN, case 3 |
||
This patient has a fair amount of soft tissue outside the ribcage, but almost NO muscle. There are thin strips of muscles outlined by orange dotted lines. Even the paraspinal muscles, which are usually fairly thick even in elderly or frail patients, are quite thin. The fat that is present along both flanks is higher in attenuation than normal, but the patient is so wasted that there is almost no normal fat to be seen to compare to. On the bottom right image, there is a small amount of intra-abrominal fat outlined in yellow, which is much darker than the body wall fat. There is no IV contrast present, as the aorta is not white. Is there another type of radiologic image that can show abnormalities of liver and spleen? |
