ICM-II: ABDOMEN, case 4 |
||
Several modalities could be used to further evaluate this patient's tumor. Nuclear medicine, such as PET scanning, could be used to search for sites of tumor beyond the bladder. Endovaginal ultrasound could give a closeup view of the tumor, which is adjacent to the vagina. And MR, which is shown here, is also good for seeing details of pelvic organs and soft tissues. You know that this is an MR because fat is very bright, and cortical bone is very dark. The bladder, tumor, vagina, and rectum are all labeled. |
