Patient C
D
This patient has another developmental variant of the renal system, a pelvic kidney on the right. This patient had trauma to the lower anterior abdomen, with blood in their urine and pelvic pain. It is important for patients with malpositioned organs to know about this, as symptoms of disease or injury may be in unusual locations, as in this case.
Image D is a labeled series of images on this same patient. Note the number of arteries piercing the right kidney, which did not migrate upward to the usual location, and has blood supply from both the aorta and the right common iliac artery.
