This is an example of another way to look at bones, called a bone scan. This is a nuclear medicine study, which means that a radioactive tracer is injected, most often into the blood stream, and it homes in on a particular type of tissue in the body, in this case, bones. There are two views shown from this patient, who had a history of prostate cancer.
