Advantages of MR in cardiac imaging:

a. NO radiation dose

b. some information on direction and amount of flow

c. higher resolution than echo

d. can be done in many different imaging planes

Limitations:

a. limited in patients with some support devices (pacers)

b. not appropriate for acutely ill patients
