Where do you think it the CVL might be? -Because it seems to be traveling downward too far to the left to be in the SVC, it might be in the arterial system instead. Usually this does not happen when a CVL is placed initially because arterial blood is pretty easy to recognize in most patients. But in this patient, who was hypotensive and septic, that might not have been the case. Look at the patient below, who also has some support lines in place. What type of image is this and what can you tell about the patient's general condition from this image? See if you can identify all of the lines/tubes and if they seem to be in the right positions. |
