The overall goal for CVL placement is to have the tip of the catheter somewhere within the superior vena cava (SVC). Unfortunately, the SVC is not completely visible on a CXR. Only a portion of the lateral margin is clearly seen. We will start with a diagram to review the venous structures of interest. |
