Screening Workflow

For  most screening settings, the patient does NOT receive a reading at the time of their imaging.

In order for screening to be performed in an efficient manner, cases are batch-read at a later time.

Patients typically receive a letter explaining their screening results in layman's terms within two weeks of their exam.

At the time of the study, the mammography technologist checks images for technical adequacy only. Extra CC or MLO views may be done if parts of the breast at not imaged completely on the four routine views.
