BI-RADS = Breast Imaging - Reporting and Data System

The BI-RADS assessment category indicates the relative likelihood of a benign or malignant diagnosis; BIRADS categories standardize both the reporting of breast imaging findings and the recommendation for management (i.e. short interval follow-up, biopsy); Assessments are either incomplete (BI-RADS 0) or final assessment categories (BI-RADS 1-6)

BI-RADS lexicon is applied to mammography, sonography, and MRI; When evaluating a patient using multiple breast imaging modalities (e.g. mammography, US, MRI), the most suspicious finding must guide the final BI-RADS assessment category
