MAMMO for MED STUDENTS

There are 3 major findings on mammography that could indicate a malignant process:

1. Mass: New/evolving: convex outward edge or line

2. Microcalcifications: New and suspicious: linear/branching, irregular, amorphous

3. Architechtural distortion: New (not explained by prior surgery) straight lines: not seen anywhere in normal anatomy, spoke-wheel or sunbeam appearance: characteristic of most breast cancers
