Set 5: lung zones

You can divide the lung into three zones: Inner, Middle and Outer, when checking pulmonary vascular distribution. No vessels should be seen in the normal lung in the Outer third. The hilar angle is in the Inner third, with many central vessels radiating outward with a lot of overlap of structures. The Middle third is the best place to look for vascular margins to see if they are sharp.
