Set 5: vascular distribution
Assessment of the pattern of vascular flow in the hilum on an upright chest radiograph is an important and complicated part of determining if a patient has CHF. Image A is from our patient, and Image B is from a normal patient. Try to decide whether the vessels are equal in size to the upper vs lower lungs in each case. It is also important to decide if the vessel margins are SHARP or FUZZY. What do you think in these two examples?
