This is a proton density image (PD). That means that water (like joint fluid, in this case) is medium grey rather then white (like T2) or dark (like T1). Fat is bright so there is no fat suppression. Key to color labels: dark green - clavicle light green - scapula lavender - humerus aqua - supraspinatus muscle and ruptured tendon red - infraspinatus tendon, also ruptured yellow - joint effusion dark blue - long head of biceps tendon orange, dark orange and blue - posterior humeral circumflex artery, vein and axillary nerve pink - subscapularis muscle purple - short head of biceps tendon |
