Image A is from the patient with neck swelling, a lateral view of a carotid angiogram. The internal and external carotid arteries are displaced anteriorly by a very vascular mass.

Image B shows the normal case again, with straight upward course of both internal carotid (green) and external carotid (aqua), and no tortuous (twisting) vessels posterior to the carotids.
