Image A is an AP projection because the beam has gone through the body from Anterior to Posterior. You cannot tell if it is AP or PA by looking at the image, but it is easier to do AP projections for most bones.

Image B demonstrates how important the actual angle of the beam relative to structures is in terms of how they look. When the beam passes through a structure at different angles, that structure can look quite different. This is most important for structures that are complex in shape, like the scapula.

On Image D, the lateral clavicle is blue, the acromion is red, the coracoid is aqua, the glenoid is purple, and the lucent lesion in the scapula is yellow.
