Her PA CXR shows two wires (metal, as they are very white), which are outlined above in green. These represent monitor or EKG leads. The enlarged image shows a large caliber tube projected over the upper midline in the region of the trachea (outlined in yellow) and consistent with a tracheostomy tube, or breathing tube in the neck. The blue outline on the enlarged image shows a much smaller caliber tube that is a feeding tube-a soft plastic tube that goes from the nose to the stomach and is used for long-term alimentary (feeding) support. |
