In patients with sarcoid, there is often interstitial lung disease which will be much better demonstrated with CT than CXR.

This is a CT scan of a different patient with sarcoid who has very extensive interstitial lung disease. The CT allows careful analysis of the type of lung disease present and its distribution relative to lung structures. Analysis of lung CT is very complex and challenging as many diseases can have similar appearances.
