By using strong fat suppression and strong T2 weighting, you can produce an image that looks like an ERCP (endoscopic retrograde cholangio pancreatogram-an invasive procedure in which contrast is injected into the biliary tree from a catheter inserted from the duodenum). These images can be displayed in a rotating movie format as shown. Unlike ERCP, interventions cannot be performed during MRCP, since there are no instruments inside the patient.
