Types of studies |

While x-rays are the commonest type of radiological study that is done overall, there are many other ways to make images of the body. Many of the more complicated imaging studies produce 'slices' of the body, rather than one image with everything superimposed on a single picture, like in an x-ray. Examples of these types of studies include CT (computed tomography), MR (magnetic resonance imaging) and US (ultrasound). See if you can decide which type of study and what part of the body each of these three images shows. |
