Heart size:  the easy way

You can accomplish the same thing by measuring the amount of heart visible to the RIGHT of midline and visually comparing it to the amount of lung visible to the LEFT of the left heart border, extending to the widest point of the chest wall.  This is MUCH easier to assess with visual inspection--it is easy to see which line segment is longer.
